スラッシュリーディング＋リスニング課題文

英文を前から読んでいくために、語句のかたまりを作ります。こんな具合に課題文をスラッシュ（斜め線）で区切ります（スラッシュリーディング）。語句のかたまりを意識すると、リスニングで英語の意味をつかむのが楽になります。

英文の構造

今回の課題文の後半部分について、構造を説明します。

・near the mouth of each quarry→　場所を示す前置詞句です。
・are huts and sheds→　前置詞句が前におかれているので、動詞＋主語の順になっています（倒置）。
・where the stone, which is brought up in the rough, is worked into shape→　huts and sheds を先行詞とする関係副詞節（非制限用法）です。the stone を先行詞とする関係代名詞節（非制限用法）が挟み込まれています。
