scarcely had he got down from his horse before Margarita→　scarcely〜before― =「〜するとすぐに―」

本来の語順は He had scarcely got down ですが、scarcely が文頭に置かれているため、疑問文の語順になっています（倒置）。

みんなが待っていたアンセルモが日没後まもなく、親戚の人たちと一夜を過ごすためにやって来た。彼が馬から降りるとすぐに、マルガリータが彼のそばに来て、おじとしての祝福を求めながら、彼の手を取って彼女の繊細な唇に近づけた。

不定詞の副詞的用法の代表的な訳し方として「〜するために」（目的）と「そして〜する」（結果）があります。

今回の課題文の２つの不定詞は、どちらにあたるでしょうか。

2. Margarita was at his side to ask the avuncular blessing→　to ask the avuncular blessing は、後ろにある at the same time raising his hand to her delicate lips とのつながりを考えると、「そして〜する」と訳したほうがいいでしょう。

「彼の手を取って彼女の繊細な唇に近づけた」のは「祝福を求める」のと同時です。「祝福を求めるために、そばに来た。同時に〜」とすると、「そばに来ながら彼の手を取った」ことになってしまいます。
